So what is 'THE BEST' DV camera available for creating a professional film look. Is it the Canon DV DXL-1?
Plus how much memory would you need on an I-Macs/G4 to edit an entire feature film?

I am sure Machead can give you good specs on which fast-access hard-drives to use etc.
I use XL1 and Mac, and it works fine, but for what purpose are you filming. Who will distribute?
That dictates what you should be trying to do in your production and post-production.

Hello
1 gig of hard drive space equates to 5mins of DV footage.(I think)
so 1 hour of footage requires 12gigs.
But remember you'll need more space for out-takes, renders, score, etc.(Final Cut Pro is a non-destructive editing package ie.if you use say 10secs of a captured clip which is 30secs long FCP doesn't trash the unused 20 secs part of the clip,I assume other editing packages work on the same principle)
What program are you planning to edit with?
If you're getting another hard drive get an INTERNAL one ,a fast 20 gig internal drive costs around ?100.
I assume your 'memory' question was about disk space not RAM.Ram wise get loads.
Cheers

Best dv camera is probably the Sony DSR 500 for ?10K street price excluding lens (and viewfinder iirc).
